I have a photo of the alpine buckwheat from a hike on the Mono Pass trail in early August. This year was an incredible one for wildflowers. While I saw an amazing diversity this year, this video blows me away. Thanks for the education. The question is: will these plants adapt to climate change? Or will they disappear?
This is some of the most beautiful Yosemite footage I have ever seen, and in an area that many will never climb to see for themselves. Really well filmed and edited and I am sure everyone that watches these « nature notes » episodes can’t wait till the next one like myself! I was just in Yosemite all last week, and the park is just stunning and it seems to get even more special every time I visit.
Once again an outstanding peek into one of the wonders of the Yosemite Sierra habitat. The series is exceptional in so many ways. I enjoy watching the videos on dull days in my current « flatland » living situation. (Too far, alas, from the mountains of California)
Thank you for these wonderful video’s. I miss living around Yosemite but I was there last month to visit for a day. I plan many many more visits as I see more each time. So much to see!
I would never have guessed that such beauty exists amid all that rock! This is an amazing video, as are all that I’ve seen of Yosemite. Thanks for providing this service to those of us who may never be able to visit there.
Being anywhere is Yosemite is like being a child again: everything you see is new, seen for the first time. Fantastic that the NPS is producing videos like this one. My daughter is a botanist, so I’ll be sending the link to this video at once.
Beautiful!
